  • Abstract
With the rapid development of the power system, the power grid becomes greater and more and more complex, but the graphics drawing method for power grid graphs in the power system is still manual mode. It is a heavy work and most of it is repetitive and easy to make mistakes. Therefore, how to generate lots of substation graphs quickly and exactly that have similar wiring in Power Systems becomes a very important topic. This paper proposes an automatical bay-based method which can generate substation graphs. The bay unit is used in the substation graphs as the drawing unit. Through the study of lots of substation graphs, some typical bay templates were abstracted. And then based on the flexible configuration of the bay templates and the different topology wirings, the equipments of the power system such as bay and so on was automatic layout. Finally, a lot of substation graphs were generated automatically through typical bay templates. This method has been used in real smart grid dispatching systems widely and makes the maintenance of the dispatching system more conveniently, rapidly and accurately.
