  • Abstract
An online mapping system based on simultaneous recording and processing of 256 electrograms directly recorded from the heart by a multiple recording electrode is described. While all data are continuously stored on a tape recorder (VCR), several types of color coded activation maps can be generated within less than 1 min. The expert system is designed for clinical use (mapping guided surgery) and experimentally for in-depth offline analysis of impulse conduction in the heart
