Abstract :
A lot of structural and microstructural brain image analysis methods exist in the literature. This review presents the different methods with special emphasis on their strengths and limitations. It aims to be a compact guide reference offering an initial clear glance on the range of available methods, their main characteristics and the principles underlying them. The main goal is to provide the reader with the necessary information in order to decide in a fast and certain way which approach fits best his needs. The trend of recently developed methods converges towards an individual´s diagnosis rather than determining statistically significant group differences.
