Abstract :
Based on an analysis of causes of geological calamity happened in Lingba, a village in Zhouqu County of Gansu Province, this paper analyzed such geological calamities as the changes of underground water level, land collapse and crevasse caused by cross-ranged influence of the river rise, with a focus on the effect of the River Bailonghe in this aspect. Statistical analysis showed that the depth of the effect can be as deep as 25-30 meters for underground water level with a rise of 0.9 meters in 25 meters distance from the river and as far as 50 meters in offshore area after 2-hour´s rise of the River Bailonghe, which remained stable after 12 hours. A comparative study suggested a similar range of water level rise and land collapse and crevasse.
