Abstract
Nowadays, collaboration in the scientific domain has been discussed in several papers. Its relevance is justified by some classical problems, such as lack of support for the composition of scientific workflows, the difficulty in reusing scientific applications and in supporting cooperation and communication between geographically distributed teams of scientists, among others. Approaches such as SPL - Software Product Line, have been used to support scientists in the composition of scientific workflows. However, in the SPL context, many relevant information about scientific applications are lost or even not provided by scientists. This paper presents CollabPL-Science approach, which integrates collaboration elements with core assets of a Scientific Software Product Line in order to generate opportunities to enhance interaction between researchers and contextualize them in their activity of composing scientific workflow. CollabPL-Science can still support the advancement of research related to Virtual Labs.
