Hydro-ecology is a hot subject which is researched by hydrologists in the twenty-first century. This paper focused on the theory of hydro-ecology and discussed the main research technologies and methods. Based on the discussing of basic theory of the groundwater hydro-ecological security evaluation, applying the multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the groundwater hydro-ecological security state of irrigation districts was evaluated in the Shihezi reclamation area of Xinjiang province, China. The results showed that most part of the study area were in the state of safe or basic safe, a few of the area was in crisis state. Results of evaluation were reliable, evaluation method was practical, could be applied to further research of different area.
