Abstract :
Exact thermal design for the high output power density (OPD) converter was carried out under real circuit operation conditions, precisely taking the correlation between device power loss characteristics and circuit stray parameters into consideration. Superiority of the proposed power loss design method was confirmed experimentally by using calorimeter. Availability of the proposed method was confirmed by developing the prototype of 3 kW 300 V 3-phase inverter.
