Abstract :
Under Kerckhoff principle, the security property of a class of image encryption algorithms based on chaotic maps is discussed. This paper reports some findings on the security problem of the existing chaotic cipher. Then based on such a fact, a new algorithm based on hyper-chaotic map is proposed to achieve higher security. Simulation results show that this algorithm can obtain better cryptographic properties, such as diffusion, confusion and so on, and the recovered image is less different from the original image.
