Abstract
A method for simulating transients on coupled transmission lines by means of multidimensional wave digital filter (MWDF) techniques is proposed. The suggested method allows one to treat arbitrary initial potential and current distributions as well as boundary conditions originating from linear lumped element terminations. Moreover, the method is also applicable to nonuniform transmission lines with space-dependent parameters. A great advantage of the method is its computational efficiency, because all necessary calculations take place directly in the space-time domain
