Abstract :
A coordinated nonlinear controller of static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) and generator excitation are designed according to the direct feedback linearization (DFL) theory and the T-S type fuzzy sliding mode variable-structure control (FSMC) theory. The proposed coordinated controller can improve both the power angle stability of generator and the voltage behavior at the STATCOM location. It is designed based on local measurements and possess good robustness. The simulation studies indicate the proposed coordinated controller can improve the accuracy of voltage control and strengthen the stability of power systems.
