  • Abstract
Future tactical networks are expected to carry larger and larger traffic loads including voice, video and data. One of the main issues a network planner faces is the limitation of available bandwidth. The bandwidth limitation results in a limitation on the number of radio links. This paper presents an algorithm that will create a governing dynamic that tries to balance the bandwidth interest of the individual node with the overall throughput interest of the entire network, given the limitation in the number of links that can be created. Using this governing dynamic leads to improved network throughput while minimizing the number of orphan nodes with very low link demands.
