Abstract :
Large load disturbance test on 220kV Cheng-Zao line with Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) in south Gansu was performed based on Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS). By comparing the transient stability calculation result and the measured data, the correctness of the simulation and analysis is verified, and the rationality of parameter setting of TCSC and Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is checked, as with the power delivery capacity of 220kV Cheng-Zao line with TCSC. In view of existing power oscillation in south Gansu grid the small signal stability was analyzed under power flow 380MW in Cheng-Zao line and the results show that the line can transmit 380MW power in order to deliver hydro power in the Bi-Kou area into Gansu main grid. The work provided scientific and practical basis for calculation of power system stability, operation mode arrangement and used various means to improve the power transmission capacity.
