Abstract :
This paper proposes a controlling method to improve overall power conversion efficiency of paralleled converter system. The method controls the number of active modules to minimize power losses in paralleled system according to load current. Key point of the control is to determine the on-off points of converter modules. Method for determining optimized on-off switching points is shown by introducing simple point-estimating manner. Output voltage fluctuation due to the on-off control is also estimated with a simplified circuit model. Those estimations are verified by experiment and circuit simulation. Simple guideline for reduction of output voltage fluctuation is also described.
