Abstract
The Sizewell B Main Control Room (MCR) uses an integrated system for centralised operation, known as WISCO. This is a large distributed computer system made up of three subsystems: the high integrity control system, the process control system, which are control and data acquisition systems; and the distributed computer system (DCS) which is a data processing and display system. The DCS provides the principle source of plant and alarm information via VDU displays, but it is supported by independent indications and alarm facias for nuclear safety purposes. This paper discusses the experience gained with optimisation of the Sizewell B Alarm System
