Abstract
There are not enough experimental data on propagation through the atmosphere at millimetre wavelengths especially on the effects of precipitation with which to develop new and improved propagation models and thence prediction procedures. Accordingly, the author´s Laboratory has built and operates the millimetre-wave experimental system at Chilbolton, in order to provide some of the propagation data required for such developments. this paper describes the facility, gives some examples of the results available, and discusses briefly future prospects for the work
