Abstract :
The standard ECG provides limited information about the depolarization of the atria and ventricles. High resolution ECG techniques are used to analyze the subtle electrical activity not detected by the standard EGG. This paper presents a data acquisition and processing tool that detects P-waves and QRS complexes separately. The P-waves and QRS complexes are independently and coherently aligned using cross-correlation techniques. The alignment error using this approach was experimentally determined to be less than 1 msec in synthetic electrocardiograms with clinically acceptable SNR.
