  • Abstract
In the doubly-fed wind generator system, a bi-directional converter is needed to control the energy bi-directional flow due to the different operation of generator. Doubly-fed PWM converter with attractive characteristics, such as well sinusoidal waveform of input current, high power factor, low THD (total harmonic distortion) to the grid and motor, and bi-directional conversion, could better meet the requirement. This paper analyzes the main circuit topology of doubly-fed PWM converter, then presents and compares different control strategies. At last the paper proposes the PC simulation results, which proves the high dynamic and static performance of doubly-fed PWM converter.
