Abstract :
Traditional wind power generation is directly or step-down cut in, and the current impact is extremely high. In this paper, according to the characteristic of AC-excited variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) wind power generation, a vector control technique is applied in doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), and an idle load cutting-in control strategy is presented based on grid voltage orientation. The rotor exciting current is adjusted to cut in grid without impact current depends on the grid voltage and rotor speed when stator circuit is opened, the decoupling control of active power and reactive power is also obtained. The models of idle load cutting-in and running in steady state are established. The simulation and experimental results are validated that the idle load cutting-in mode is an ideal approach for VSCF wind power generation.
