Abstract
The paper aims to quantitatively investigate the electromagnetic behaviors of silicon steel lamination used for magnetic shielding in large transformers. 3-D eddy current codes based on Ar-V-Ar method are developed. The non-linearity, hysteresis and anisotropy of the material are taken into account when the electromagnetic field is analyzed. A practical way is advised to model the lamination material, and an effective method to calculate hysteresis loss is proposed and adopted. Some experiments are carried out based on the proposed benchmark shield model to verify the approaches.
