Abstract :
Wireless communication systems operating in the presence of the electromagnetic interference radiated from ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) apparatus are drastically degraded in performance by the effects of the interference. In this paper, to design a direct sequence-spread spectrum (DS-SS) system to be effective and flexible to operate under ISM interference environments, the DS-SS system which employs an adaptive multicode transmission scheme is introduced. Based on computer simulation, the bit error rate and the throughput performances of the adaptive multicode DS-SS system are studied. Simulation results illustrate that the DS-SS system with the adaptive multicode transmission achieves good performance even operating under ISM interference environments
