  • Abstract
This paper investigates the iron loss and interlinkage flux inside magnetic steel, and presents some new benchmarking results based on the overly excited member-model of problem 21 family. The conventional quasi-nonlinear approach (QNA), which is usually effective to solve the problems with lower saturation level, is re-examined and improved for the purpose of industrial application. It is indicated that the enhanced QNA provides good results for saturation problems over a suitable range, referred to as quasi-saturation domain. A new laminated core model is proposed for further modeling the heavily saturated magnetic material.
