Abstract
A new "folded" quadrifilar antenna is presented with desirable radiation pattern properties, and of smaller dimensions than standard quadrifilar antennas having the same properties. This is achieved by folding the antenna helices. Through this technique, compact quadrifilar antennas can be constructed for several satellite communications applications, such as GPS and satellite radio, as well as indoor wireless applications.
