  • Abstract
By setting up water monitoring points in Poyang Lake, water samples were collected from the points in several intervals in the research to studying the spatiotemporal characteristics of water quality and influencing factors. Based on fuzzy comprehensive theory, this paper has evaluated the water quality in Poyang Lake by using the characteristics of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The results show that water quality of Poyang Lake is relatively good for now; however, water pollution may become more severe. The control of pollutants flowing into lake, such as nitrogen, phosphorus and phenol, is a realistic problem that must be faced when seeking the strategy for rapid economic development in the area around Poyang Lake, even in Jiangxi Province. This study suggests that spatial analysis of further data at different scales should be a vital part of identifying the fundamental spatio-temporal distribution of water quality.
