Abstract
Forced dynamics control principles are used for position control of the drive employing linear permanent magnet synchronous motors with flexible coupling. The designed controller is of the cascade structure, comprising an inner speed control loop and an outer position control loop. Inner speed loop is based on feedback linearization and respects principles of vector control. Outer loops for moving part and load position control are designed to have specified step response in the presence of a vibration modes and an external forces. Derived control algorithms require estimates of the force acting on moving part and estimate of external load force including its derivatives. Two observers are designed to generate these variables. Simulations presented indicate that the control systems operate according to theory and therefore further investigation including experimental implementation of control algorithms are recommended.
