Abstract
Autonomic network management has been in a foreground of a research since many years. It brings autonomic computing principles in network management. Complexity of today´s networks is growing very fast and autonomic computing brings an ultimate possibility how to manage the network in face of daily operations of human administrators. This paper starts with a brief overview of today´s autonomic principles which is followed by the analysis of the main drawbacks of current autonomic network architectures. The ultimate goal of this paper is to present a new concept of an autonomic network architecture - the Simple Policy Based Architecture.
