Abstract
Coplanar waveguide technology has striking advantages for MMICs concerning process technology, because no substrate thinning or backside via hole technology is required. Better circuit performance can be achieved with CPWs compared to microstrip due to lower grounding parasitics and frequency dispersion. Based on a database of active and passive MMIC components, the authors have designed and fabricated high performance V- and W-Band MMIC amplifiers in coplanar technology which cover the 60-80 GHz frequency range. The measured and predicted MMIC results are in very good agreement
