Abstract :
To solve the problem such as low resolution, inaccurate positioning of electrodes and ill condition in the traditional model of EIT (Electrical Impedance Tomography) with circular boundary, a new imaging model - Open EIT which has an open imaging field varying from the traditional circular closed area was proposed. Sensitivity of boundary measurements to conductivity variations are analyzed for spatially uniform field. Experiments were carried out by putting one inhomogeneity into different position of the field and changing its conductivity or area to simulate different degree of the abnormal pathological tissue. The results of the simulation show the shallow local area beneath the driven electrodes is more sensitive to the conductivity change.
