Abstract
Evolutionary programming (EP) combined with a niching technique is used as an efficient optimization method for model parameter extraction of high frequency interconnects. The proposed method provides a global solution when strong local minima exist in the domain of search. Results for parametric modeling of a via transition discontinuity are presented.
