Abstract :
A novel distributed wide area backup protection based on self-organized P2P network is presented in this paper. The proposed scheme can simplify coordination of backup relays and has excellent adaptability to the complex topology structure and flexible operating conditions of power system. The pilot phase comparison based on fault component current is employed to fault identification. The result of simulation demonstrated that this scheme can be widely applied under the different fault conditions such as general fault, fault progression and fault diversion, high impedance fault and two phase operation. In conclusion this scheme is simple, rapid, reliable and easy to realize.
