Abstract
Identifying water source is basic problem for preventing and controlling mine water disaster. This paper presents a method of identifying water source from analyzing the chemical characteristics of spilled water. Twenty six water samples were collected, which were divided into six groups according to their different chemicals with Hierarchical Cluster analysis method. A piper plot was also drawn according to the chemicals in each sample. The water source was determined from the Hierarchical Cluster analysis results and the piper plot analysis, which provided a reference for the coal mine dewatering and water supply management..
