  • Abstract
    The complexity of power distribution grid has been highly increased with the extended scale of power systems over the past ten years. The capability of a power transmission system is evaluated by some factors involving stability, reliability and sensitivity. In order to enhance the performance of the power transmission system, a more credible automation approach regarding these vital elements is required. Considering the indispensable character of the relay protection in the power transmission system, this paper proposes an agent-based control approach for relay protection system. With an ontology repository, our approach takes a much shorter reaction time in the backup relay protection and isolates the fault points with the minimal isolation zone.
