Abstract :
A method of testing analogue and mixed-signal modules is described, based on stimulation with a sinusoidal input, and measurement of the steady-state variation (rms) of the supply current. This method has previously been shown to be effective in detecting a wide range of faults in simple frequency-independent op-amp circuits: this study has extended investigation to a representative frequency-dependent circuit (a band-pass filter) and to a mixed-signal circuit (an ADC)
