Abstract
The multi-domain pseudospectral time-domain (PSTD) algorithm is extended to model the electromagnetic scattering from 2D buried objects in lossy media. The formulation incorporates a newly developed well-posed PML for lossy media. The numerical results show an excellent agreement with analytical solutions for various canonical problems. The algorithm has been applied to model various GPR applications involving interfaces of arbitrary shape in a lossy half space. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the multi-domain PSTD algorithm as a new conformal high-order time-domain solver for Maxwell´s equation.
