  • Abstract
    Dynamic multileaf collimator is an effective device for 3-DCRT (3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy) and IMRT (intensity-modulated radiation therapy). We present a novel design idea and an implementation of a dynamic multileaf collimator. The paper concentrates on the design and implementation of the main system modules. Furthermore, the circuit for leaves´ auto-recovery from mechanical deadlock status after unexpected collision is proposed and implemented. Testing and verification items are described and testing methods are introduced briefly. In clinical practice, the system runs reliably and its performance is up to the international advanced level.
