Abstract :
Based on the basic group-based maximum a posterior (MAP) detector, an iterative group MAP detection scheme is proposed. The novality of the proposed scheme lies in carrying out MAP detection in a serial fashion and thus MAP detection for the later groups can use the information provided by the former ones. Furthermore, the process can be iterated, leading to the so called iterative group MAP detection. The iterative group-based MAP detector can fully use the information from the channel and the decoder. Simulation results show that the new detector has a significant performance gain over the basic group-based MAP detector in uncoded systems and a faster convergence in coded systems.
