Abstract
During last few years, we have seen the beginning of replacement (extension) of traditional circuit-switched networks with systems based on packet switching. Deployment of these "new generation networks" introduces many challenges in the area of interoperability between different communication and control protocols. This text provides overview and analysis of several important implementation and vendor interoperability issues related with deployment and further development of H.248 gateway control protocol.
