Abstract
This paper investigates the stability of nonlinear switched systems in two cases: all subsystems are exponentially stable, and both exponentially stable subsystems and unstable subsystems coexist, and proposes a number of new results on the stability analysis. Firstly, a new minimum dwell time (MDT) method is established for the stability of such switched system by extending the existing dwell time method. Secondly, based on the MDT method, several new results to the stability analysis are obtained. It should be pointed out that the obtained results have two advantages over the previous results, one is the MDT conditions are less than those, the other is the obtained average dwell time is also smaller than that obtained by other methods. Finally, an illustrative example is given to show the correctness and the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
