Abstract :
Based on measurements performed on switch contacts it seems that nonlinear phenomena are manifested. These phenomena could be attributed to charge carrier transport processes, verified to exist in semiconductors and insulators. According to the experimental results, it could be stated that for current values greater than 15% of the nominal value negative differential resistance behavior is manifested across the contact joints. A contact resistance equivalent circuit based on the comparison of the electrical to the mechanical fatigue is proposed
