Abstract
A simplified method is developed for the dynamic simulation of electric motors, power converters, and electric drives. The initial model of each kind of electrical motor is that known from general theory of electrical machines. The models of power converters are based on the dynamic equivalents, and converter valves are considered as ideal switches. Also included in this study are selected results from the programs which have been constructed using the methods outlined. Curves for a three-phase induction motor, a chopper, and a three-phase converter armature controlled direct current motor are presented
