Abstract
This paper presents the coupled IEM and FEM technique for power transformers and reactors structure elements stray losses and overheating calculation. It is based on the use of an integral equation method, expressed in terms of scalar magnetic potential and coupled with a T-φ finite element method, taking a magnetic potential distribution as exciting field. Calculated and measured results are compared for two benchmark problems and for tie plate of TDTN-40000kVA/110kV power transformer.
