Abstract
The teaching of science phenomena and engineering applications is incomplete without their practical demonstration. The use of computer simulation in teaching provides an inexpensive and yet a powerful platform for the laboratory demonstrations of science phenomena and engineering applications which is not affordable through conventional teaching. This paper: (i) provides an introduction to computer simulation; (ii) describes simulation applications; (iii) outlines the features worth having in a computer simulation; and (iv) discusses the way simulations are used at the OPSTeC College of Computer Sciences.
