Abstract
This paper presents a new approach to providing fast and efficient calibration of hybrid electric vehicle operating strategies during series production development. Using a combination of two development platforms - PC simulations and a hybrid power train test bench - hybrid functions can be optimized for conflicting goals such as low fuel consumption and high electric drive availability. This approach can help in reducing complexity for a more efficient development process. The paper also addresses requirements such as platform costs and flexibility.
