Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to investigate the characteristics of iron carbon reduction process treating nitrobenzene wastewater. The optimum conditions were determined: aeration stirring time 60min, the amount of iron powder 5g / L, powdered activated carbon dosage 5g / L. Under these conditions, CODCr removal rate of up to 21%, the removal rate of nitrobenzene was 75%, and the BOD5/CODCr value was 0.31. The results showed that with the decrease of pH value, the CODCr removal rate increased. And the CODCr removal rate with powder activated carbon was better than that of the columnar activated carbon.
