Abstract :
PET image quality is often limited by the presence of noise and blur. In this paper, we developed an angular frequency dependent filter for improving reconstruction of PET images. Our results indicated that the proposed filter outperforms the conventional method in terms of both visual quality and quantitative accuracy. In addition, the proposed filter can automatically adjust its degree of smoothing according to the count level of the input PET data.
