Abstract :
In this study, it presents a new method of active cooling for LED lighting application. Ionic wind generator is an active cooling without moving parts. The basic structure of ionic generator includes an emitter and a collector. In the first part is to identify the best position and material of connector and emitter. The second part is to install on the real luminary. In the luminary, 50W LED chip was installed and it was placed inside the plastic tube together with ionic wind generator. Thermal measurement was performed to investigate the efficiency of ionic generator by attaching thermocouples on heat sink and Tc point of LED module.
