Abstract :
An array element capable of operating over a 44% bandwidth and a scan volume of /spl plusmn/70/spl deg/ is presented. The element is a tapered slot type of element comprised of only one metal fin and no dielectric and fed by a coaxial cable. A recently developed numerical unit cell technique in the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used for the analysis.
