Abstract :
Neurosurgery requires accurate surgical planning and guidance because of complex and delicate structures in the brain. Over the course of a neurosurgical procedure, the brain changes its shape in reaction to mechanical and physiological changes associated with the surgery (loss of cerebro-spinal fluid and gravity force). Hence the use of elastic registration is required. We propose a method for registration of full view pre-operative and limited view intra-operative brain images. A polynomial formulation is used for curved transformation.
