Abstract :
This paper presents the application of a new technique for monitoring the interaction between capacitor bank multistage switching and transient magnitude as well as harmonic propagating from remote non-linear loads. Both current and voltage signals are monitored at both utility and customer sides. The effect of utilizing a detuning reactor on both voltage transient magnitude and current distortion level is investigated. The technique is applied on a real distribution system.
