Abstract
LED (lighting emitting diode) lighting has many advantages over other types of light sources such as incandescent and fluorescent lights. For example, LEDs typically have a higher efficiency and longer lifetime than other types of conventional lighting. However, one factor limiting the performance of LED lighting is the ability of the LED lighting to dissipate heat produced by their respective LEDs, which can become damaged if overheated. Contrary to the known approach of trying to dissipate all heat produced by LEDs, such heat can be harvested. Solution is engaged in high power LED luminary which are producing waste heat (from LEDs) taken away by heat sinks. Our solution consists in transformation waste thermal energy to electric energy by TEG (thermoelectric generator) utilizing Seeback effect.
