  • Abstract
Metal hybride alloys from the international common samples provided through the International Battery Materials Association (IBA) have been evaluated for their electrochemical performance characteristics. The published chemistry for these alloys is listed. In addition to these materials, two well-studied metal hydride alloys were also evaluated. These were LaNi5, upon whose chemistry most of the IBA metal hydride alloys are based, and La0.8Nd0.2Ni2.5Co2.4Si 0.1 developed at Philips Research Laboratories. In all alloys evaluated, nickel was the major constituent. The focus of this investigation was to evaluate the electrochemical performance of these materials as related to rate capability and temperature dependency
